Colonial Conference All Star Meet

Boo Vitez has the current course record 14:57

According to wikapedia the Colonial conference has been in existence since 1945. Mostly group II & Group I schools from Camden & Glouscter  county make up this conference.  It is made up of two division the Liberty & Patriot.  The All Star Meet is held at  Pennypacker  Park in Cherry Hill.  Milesplit has given it a course rating of -44 compared to Holmdel which has a course rating of +28.  Needless to say its been the home to many of PR's over the years.  Last year was no exception when Boo Vitez blistered a new course record by running 14:57.  His time during the All-Star meet was 20 seconds faster than the previous mark held by Chris Platt who recorded his time during the 2002 season.  On the Girls side, some of the best runners in the state have raced at Pennypacker park.  Most recently Marielle Hall of HMHS who is currently running for the Lady Longhorns of Texas.  Vanessa Wright  four time sectional & state champion in XC and most notably, 2008 Olympian Erin Donohue,  all have graced this course with their tremendous athletic prowess.

There is no team scoring however runners that finish 1-7 make first all conference and runners 8-14 make second team based on the two divisions.

On the boys side Haddonfield owns 16 of the top 25 times.  In order to make the top 25 all time you have to be able to run sub 16:30.

On the girls side Hall from Haddonfield in 2008 ran 17:50 which might be the best all time.  I wasnt able to get a all time list from Coach Russo or Coach Bussarello.  As always thanks for reading

Burlington County Recap

WOW
WOW!
Let me quote a fellow blogger Mr. Grote " Megan Lacy is becoming very good @ Running."  Thanks flash.  She destroyed the course record today in impressive fashion.  Last year she ran 19:04 today 17:53.  If I were her parents I would let her drop out of school and in enroll in college today.  She has become that good. My daughter blames me for running 19:30 today,  a 35 second improvement over last year. Why do you ask?  Because I insisted her name be spelled with an "H".  The two fastest girls in SJ & the state of NJ for that matter  spell there names Megan Lacy & Megan Venebles.  No "H".  Sorry sweetie if that "H" is slowing you down and your name is constantly being mis-spelled.

If I could have wagered on today's performance I would have been smiling all the way to the bank.

I successfully predicted the top 3 girls & winning team Cherokee in an upset special for all you degenerate gamblers.

I had 2 of the 3 boys right- the only exception Greg Malloy of Cherokee who finished third. Greg is quickly becoming my third favorite Malloy, right behind Meghan & Timmy. I had Peter Murray finishing third - he ran fourth.  Had I bet a superfecta it would have paid boxcars!  Also had the Lenape as the team winner.

Look for my Super Seven on WWednesday and my Colonial Conference All Star special on Thursday.  As always thanks for reading.
